September 6-8
Two of California’s National Parks, Sequoia and Kings Canyon, will host after hours stargazing. Events include appearances by NASA and CalTech scientists and solar viewings.

Big Bear Oktoberfest
Starting September 7
Oktoberfest in Big Bear combines the mountain’s charm with authentic German traditions, live entertainment direct from Germany and the very same beers and food served at the celebrations of Germany. This year’s festival features three bands from Germany, more Oktoberfest biers and new faire foods.

Knights in Gray Golf Classic
September 17
Jarod Knight and the Uncle Kory Foundation are dedicated to funding brain cancer research. Together they created the Knights in Gray Golf Classic to support the important research of Dr. Liau and Dr. Cloughesy at the UCLA Brain Tumor Center. Their 3rd annual event will take place on this month at at Moorpark Country Club, again benefitting the UCLA Tumor Center.

Solvang Danish Days
September 20-22
Break out the clogs and hit the streets of Solvang for a weekend of all things Danish. Highlights include axe throwing, a Viking Beer & Wine Garden, Lego building contest, concerts, a parade and, of course, plenty of pastries.

Monterey Jazz Festival
September 27-29
Since 1958, the nonprofit Monterey Jazz Festival has been committed to celebrating America’s creativity and cultural heritage by presenting legendary jazz musicians, composers and young rising stars. This year’s lineup includes Mavis Staples, Stanley Clarke & 4EVER, Samara Joy and Lila Downs.
